We have been retained by this specialist steel structures fabricator / sub-contractor, to recruit for a new key role as an office-based Project Manager (with some site work) offering real potential to rapidly progress your career to senior management.

Projects are typically of short duration, and will comprise a combination of technical, process and commercial elements. You will need to bring your multi-tasking and prioritisation skills into play alongside your attention to technical detail to provide effective project coordination, working closely with internal colleagues and clients.

It is also anticipated that you will be assisting other Project Managers with larger projects and your commercial / contract experience will be useful to both other Project Managers and the Sales team with large proposals.

All members of this small company contribute towards maximising profit and securing future work, and this means no clear demarcation lines. This could involve doing your own scanning / filing, helping on trade fair stands or hosting customer demonstration days.

The job is essentially about detail and takes time to learn. There are streamlined processes in place, including a specialised software application to enable the work to move forward through the system; the Project Manager is there to enable timescale, cost, profit and customer requirements to be adhered to.

Essential requirements:
:: Knowledge and experience of contracts, ideally construction-related
:: Project coordination or project management experience
:: The ability to work with a number of short-term projects (typically 2-3 weeks) at any one time
:: Prioritisation skills
:: Pay attention to detail whilst looking at the "bigger picture"

Desirable:
:: Technical knowledge of light steel structures
:: Experience in highways, rail or telecom sectors
