cover supervisor
This co-educational 11-18 comprehensive school on the border of Gloucestershire and Warwickshire are looking for two cover supervisors to commence from November.
Initially the positions will start on a temporary basis but will become permanent if both parties are happy.
Duties will include covering classes throughout the KS 3 + 4 age ranges in the teacher's short-term absence. The classes will include all national curriculum subjects and will include GCSE classes.
The role will be to collect pre planned and set work by the class teacher, supervise the class, answer pupil's questions, ensure that there is a positive learning environment for the students, take the register and to provide written feedback at the end of the class for the class teacher. It will also involve resources preparation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working with the secondary age range. They will have excellent classroom management skills and this will need to be backed up by a recent reference.
Cover Supervisor Person Specification:
· Work experience with secondary aged pupils will be an advantage, as will curriculum knowledge of core subjects. It is essential that the suitable candidate will have proven behaviour/classroom management experience and skills.
· Good interpersonal skills
· Good organisational skills
Candidates should hold one of the following qualifications: a degree, a PGCE in FE, be an Overseas Qualified Teacher of TEFL Teacher
