Pharmacy Manager
As the Pharmacy Manager you will be accountable for the Pharmacy support team. You will be responsible for ensuring you are, as a team, proactively striving to achieve the Pharmacy targets (items, MURs etc). You will work closely with Store Managers to ensure the success of the Pharmacy. You will be responsible for conducting Performance Reviews (PDRs) with the Pharmacy support staff and subsequent PDPs.
To deliver Pharmacy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within budget.
To deliver results in line with the defined people & leadership DNA descriptors.
To lead and support the Pharmacy team to deliver the pharmacy business plan
To work closely with the SM and RGM to ensure the Pharmacy is achieving the set target and is operating as an intergrated aspect of the Superdrug business
Sales
1 Use commercial leadership skills to maximise sales opportunities within the Pharmacy.
2 Analysing data available to make the right decisions, to stretch/build Pharmacy performance and adding value to the Business.
3 Conduct regular reviews with all support staff, creating focussed action plan to target improvement.
4 React quickly and positively to tactical changes within the store.
5 Identify external opportunities. Working closely with the RGM and store team to support any adaptation/change to Business trading to reflect market changes and competitor activity.
6 Actively embrace the surrounding community promoting Superdrug Pharmacies. Build links with local PCTs, GPs, Hospitals and businesses to grow the business.
Wages
1 Maintaining awareness of store Pharmacy budget and working closely with the Store Manager to achieve it.
Services
1 Actively driving all the services Superdrug offer customers MURs, weight management programmes, Healthy Heart Checks etc.
2 Identify poor performers and liaise with Store Manager, HRM and RGM and manage accordingly.
3 Actively seek to be trained on new processes such as Weight Management and Healthy Heart checks.
4 Drive customer services i.e. 10 min prescription.
Damages
1 Reviewing analysis and following through on performance management, if appropriate.
2 Ensure that profit is protected through all activities and targets met.
Customer Service
1 Driving a service culture at store level.
2 Making the customer number one at all times.
3 Manage poor performers accordingly
People
1 Provide clear direction to support staff, give open and honest feedback to all regarding our people behaviours.
2 Maintain regular communication with RGM and Store Manager.
3 Inspire, challenge and stretch individual performance coaching all Pharmacy support team to reach their full potential. Identify future capability for arrange training programmes to help them achieve their potential.
4 Work closely with the Store Managers to drive a spirit of one team and encouraging a close working relationship within the store.
5 Actively engage with the Pharmacy support staff and be aware of their career plans (are they looking for a move, where do they want to be etc) support with training where possible.
6 Actively seek to implement a succession plan within the store.
Skill Mix Level
1 Ensure the store is operating under a Healthy skill mix in line with the hours that are available (as driven by weekly items) and where this is not in place have a detailed plan in place with timescales to achieve the desired skill mix.
2 Ensure support staff are receiving the necessary training.
3 Encourage internal development.
4 Willing to be a Pre-Reg tutor driving the pharmacy managers of tomorrow and identifying potential
5 PIP plus work closely with the SM to achieve 60% or higher of store colleagues trained on Pip Plus.
Other
1 Champion the Brand
2 Build strong relationships with external contacts (PCT, GPs etc) Networking.
3 Work closely with all support functions to deliver the Brand strategy.
4 Acting as an Ambassador for the Brand.
5 Actively taking on wider role through National / Brand related initiatives or projects.
Person Specification
Relevant Skills & Work Experience required (essential):
Pharmacy Degree - MRPharms
The ideal candidate will have relevant Pharmacy Manager experience and will be a confident and capable leader who is happy to coach and mentor colleagues.
They should demonstrate their creation of a wide network (internally and externally) and be actively using these contacts to further their own input, impact and influence.
They will have had significant exposure to:
1 Driving improvements in pharmacy standards.
2 Improving availability and driving OTC sales figures.
3 Delivering results through others by active coaching and performance improvement.
4 Building and delivering robust operational business plans.
