Legal Secretary Trademarks & Patents
To provide secretarial support to attorneys paralegals and others, and to facilitate the smooth delivery of the Firm’s services.
• Provide a full secretarial service, including word processing, audio typing and dealing with correspondence
• Maintain a comprehensive and accurate diary record of tasks & deadlines, involving the Attorney where appropriate
• Undertake administration relating to the filing of patents or trademarks, as requested by an Attorney or paralegal
• Ensure current and archive files are stored with care and in the correct place
• Record time on client work diligently and ensure it billed as up to date as possible at the end of each month
• Generate end-of-the-month invoices for Attorney approval
• Input relevant due dates/deadlines on the Firm’s computerised diary system (CPI)
• Apply the Firm’s visual identity uniformly on correspondence
• Suggest ways of improving working practices and to be willing to adopt new working practices
• Deal with clients in a courteous manner, either in person or by telephone
• Offer assistance to other secretaries/personal assistants if they have a large workload
• To carry out reception and other administrative duties as required
You do not necessarily need to have experience in the legal sector, although will be required to have strong secretarial skills.
