This Examinations Centre based in North Gloucestershire, upholds professional standards within a specialist sector. They offer assessment of knowledge, experience and professional development. Due to sustained growth, the centre is now looking to expand their team. Successful applicants will be primarily office based but occasional UK travel will be required. The salary is £25K per annum and this permanent post is to commence immediately,
Recent teaching experience in an academic subject at secondary or tertiary level would be a benefit and examining experience:-
· Either as a seasonal assistant examiner with an awarding body like AQA or Edexcel.
·Or as a teacher with responsibility for organising public examinations in a school or college.
The role of the Qualifications Officer is to assist the Examinations Officer in delivering the examinations service as described below:-
· Co-ordinating the work of the team of examiners at each key stage in the examinations cycle.
· Co-ordinating the work involved in the following key processes:-
- Qualification development; as instructed by the Chief Examiner.
- Quality assurance; by following the Institution's procedures.
- Awarding; by following the Institution's procedures.
· Co-ordinating administrative support at each key stage in the examinations cycle.
· Being the central point of contact for candidates, examination centres, examiners and other stakeholders.
· Ensuring that candidates are registered for the examinations of their choice, acknowledging and confirming this.
· Ensuring that candidates are registered at an examination centre in a location accessible to them.
· Sourcing examination centres, verifies their suitability and co-ordinates their efforts by advising their staff of the procedures for the proper conduct of the Institution's examinations.
· Proof-reading examination materials, organises the printing of them and the distribution and return of these materials to and from the examination centres.
· Verifying, collating and distributing examination results and pass certificates.
· Co-ordinating the appeals process.
· Co-ordinating the completion of the Examination Committee's Annual Review.
·Ensuring that syllabus revisions and changes to the reading lists are completed before the next examination cycle begins.
