Local Environmental Campaign Volunteer Based in Herefordshire
Passionate, committed, friendly and engaging.
Is this you?
If so Friends of the Earth would like to hear from you! We are one of the most influential campaigning organisations both nationally and internationally and need local volunteers to help us with two of our campaigns.
Our Fix the Food Chain campaign is aiming to make livestock farming more sustainable and to protect the rainforests. Friends of the Earth is also working to raise awareness of Copenhagen, and getting people involved in The Wave in London this December. We are looking for volunteers to join our existing local group and help with either of the campaigns in Herefordshire throughout 2009 and beyond.
Types of tasks you may be asked to do:
1. Help build public support at Fix the Food Chain and Copenhagen related events throughout the year.
2. Recruit people to help with the campaigns.
3. Help to plan the campaign with Friends of the Earth groups in the area.
4. Writing to (and maybe meeting) local MPs and local councillors in order to gain their support.
5. Not forgetting … meet like minded people and help make change happen in your local community!
You don’t need to have any experience of campaigning or knowledge of food, farming or local government, but if you do, welcome aboard! Whatever your background, we’ll make sure that you can build on your existing talents and learn new ones through training and skill-sharing sessions.
Please contact campaign_volunteers@foe.co.uk or leave a message on 0121 643 7456 to register your interest. And go to http://www.foe.co.uk to learn more about Friends of the Earth’s work and the Fix the Food Chain Campaign.
