Are you a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker who has worked with pupils who display challenging behaviour?

Primary and Secondary schools in Gloucestershire are looking for Teaching Assistants with experience of supporting vulnerable pupils who have severe emotional and behavioural issues.

The job will involve the following:

Ø       supporting teachers in the promotion of positive behaviour and learning

Ø       preparation of resources for lessons and individual pupils

Ø       providing pastoral advice and support for pupils who display challenging behaviour and and have complex emotional needs

Ø       liaison with external agencies and multi-disciplinary professionals when required

Ø       assessment and monitoring of pupil's progress

Ø       working alongside the Inclusion Manager or SENCO in setting targets and writing reports

Ø promoting inclusion


We will be looking for people who have:

Ø      an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent- desirable but not essential

Ø      the ability to provide excellent references for their work with vulnerable children and young people

Ø      ability to remain calm and rational under pressure

Ø understanding of de-escalation and crisis prevention techniques
