Our client (a highly regarded personal lines insurer)is currently recruiting for an FS industry focused PR and Internal Communications Manager with the relevant vision to develop and deliver effective PR strategy.
This is a new role designed to create more focus on internal and external communications. The PR role encompasses press office duties, media relations and corporate communications as part of the overall accountabilities. The internal communications focus will be on communicating branding work, product launches and marketing campaigns so they have increased visibility throughout the organisation.
Other key responsibilities will include:
Develop and agree key messages with Senior Managers and prepare off the shelf statements for proactive and reactive PR. Ensure these are regularly reviewed and updated.
Work with Affinity Partners to leverage joint PR opportunities and positive coverage.
Work with Brand and Campaign Managers to ensure PR supports campaign activities, brand outcomes and enquiry generation. Create a framework to monitor and measure the impact of PR on enquiry sources and ensure coverage is maximised in pursuit of generating sales / leads.
Work with Online Manager to ensure on and offline PR are aligned and complementary and SEO opportunities are fully leveraged.
Manage in house press office.
Manage PR agency including any requirements to review services to support PR strategy. NB the exact delineation of what is done in house versus at the agency is to be determined but the general desire is to move more work in house.
Design a meet and greet programme to promote key personnel to consumer, PFs, trade and specialist journalists and develop ongoing relationships with key individuals.
Manage any research requirements to generate coverage. Ensure research is made available to other areas in Marketing and exploited to full potential (online, in other campaign activity).
Design and deliver effective internal communications activities which underpin key campaign or product messages and ensure these are effectively delivered to the entire company.
Ideal candidates will have consumer financial services PR experience as well as substantial PR/press office experience across all channels, preferably working in an in-house PR team. Experience of managing PR agencies is also a pre-requisite as is experience of corporate communications as well as campaign driven PR.
