Legal Secretary Job
Legal PA / Secretarial job, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
My client is looking for an experienced PA/Legal secretary to join their Commercial Property Team.
Duties to include:
To accurately and speedily type from tapes dictated by Partner and other staff as required.
To check completed letters and other typed material before submission for signature.
To ensure that all files are as up to date as possible.
To accurately take and record messages in the Partner's absence and:
a) Act on those messages where the necessary knowledge and information is available.
b) Relay messages to the Partner indicating where possible the level of priority.
Fielding calls to the Partner and dealing with those calls for which the job holder has experience.
Ensuring that all post is duly completed and placed in the Royal Mail/DX in time for the evening collection.
Assisting other Partners/Fee Earners as necessary.
Filing emails, linking post and emails and putting files away.
Booking meetings and other appointments and general PA support to the Partner.
Assisting on Reception when requested and subject to workload.
Any other duties as required
The hours will be from 9am to 5.30pm with one hour lunch (= 37.5 hour week) - there is a possibility that slightly different hours could be agreed (e.g. 9.30am to 6pm), but the role is not flexi time.
Salary circa 17k (to an absolute maximum of 18k for the right candidate). 22 days holiday (plus bank) in a full year. Contributory pension scheme (3% from employer upon achieving 12 months service). Salaried Partner, who heads up the Commercial Property Department, requires a full time PA/Legal Secretary asap, to be based solely in Cheltenham.
Specifically looking for a legal secretary ideally, with relevant property experience and some experience of working in a 'PA' type role.
As the role is working for a Salaried Partner who expects high standards from her staff, therefore they are looking for someone of calibre who is a fast accurate typist (inc. audio).
In addition you will need to be organised, efficient, have first rate communication skills and be experienced in matters such as diary management and client liaison as well as the use of on-line case management systems. We need a pro-active individual.
