Job Details

We currently have a position available for a trainee cook/general member of staff that is expected to progress onto the position of assistant manager in the future. The position involves working in all areas of the business, learning about the day to day running of the café to then be considered for the position of assistant manager in the future.

Hours

- Training hours will start at approximately 20 hours a week Monday to Friday.
- It is expected that in spring 2010 the position will then become full time at
40 – 45 hours a week.

The position is currently only daytime Monday to Friday, not weekends; this is expected to change in the future. You must however be available to cover weekends when needed (Cover will be needed when second chef who works at weekends books holidays)
Flexibility required, in relation to seasonal aspects of business
You will be required to work additional hours during school holidays
and bank holidays
Hours may change during busier months
Hours currently between 8am – 6pm

Qualifications that would be preferable

- Food hygiene certificate Level 2 in catering
- First aid for appointed person
However this is a training position and therefore candidate will be placed on appropriate courses by us to gain necessary qualifications if they do not already hold them.

Qualities and experience

Experience of cooking and working within a catering kitchen is preferable but not essential as we are happy to provide full training, but an interest in food is necessary.

Salary - dependant on experience
