Dear Parent/Carer

My name is Grant Harman and I am a qualified Nursery Nurse (Dip EYCE). I also hold a current CRB check and will supply you with excellent references. I have undertaken early years first aid training and am currently qualified up to the level of CFR (First Aid at Work + Oxygen Therapy and Defibrillation) through my work with the St John Ambulance

I have been working with children for the past 6 years and have experience in looking after children from 9 months - teenagers although I feel my area of expertise is probably 2 years+. I have worked in primary and secondary schools, nurseries, playgroups and youth clubs as well as being in charge of summer camps for 50+ children. I have experience in working with children with disabilities particularly autism and behaviour problems. I have babysat for several people and have never had an unsatisfied customer. I am reliable and can guarantee a high quality service. Because of my previous employment by the education department as a teaching assistant I have a good knowledge of the subject matter that KS1 and KS2 are studying and would be more than happy to help with homework or extra tuition during the sit. I have some knowledge of the KS3 syllabus although this is more limited.

Before working for a family I like to meet the parents and the child/ren. This gives you a chance to ask me any questions and for the child/ren and I to meet before the sit. In my experience this lessens any anxieties the child/ren may have about having either a new sitter or even a sitter for the first time. This also gives me a chance to ask you questions about your child's individual needs and any other information I may need to make the sit run as smoothly as possible.

I currently work 2 days a week teaching dance to children with special needs however my contract will be ending on the 19th August. I will be starting at university this September (18th) studying children’s nursing so will probably be unavailable during weekdays. I will however be available during most evenings and at weekends. I am available for babysitting, daytime respite (at weekends), mothers help and childcare when you just need that extra pair of hands such as sleepovers, birthday party outings etc.

My current rates are £6.50 per hour for up to 2 children and £1 extra per extra child per hour. Maximum of 4 children under 8 and maximum of 8 children under 12 (sole care)

I currently do not drive and so you would need to live within 4 miles of Gloucester town centre, be on a bus route or provide transport

My rates reflect my qualifications and experience and I would not be charging this amount if I did not have as much experience or was not qualified. I am willing to look at discounts on a case by case basis for example for parents on a low income.
